The Product Assurance, Risk & Security (PARS) organization exists to keep our customers and partners safe, protect associates, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance. Compliance Operations (C-Ops) is the operational arm of the organization. The team partners with worldwide program teams to classify products and ensure Amazon’s product listings follow regulatory and legal compliance guidelines. C-Ops supports regulatory compliance requirements for Amazon’s worldwide programs such as Restricted Products, Dangerous Goods, Global Trade Services, Product Assurance, Food Safety and Product Safety. C-Ops has offices across India, China, Poland, Romania, Netherlands, Jordan, and Costa Rica and supports compliance related needs for worldwide Amazon marketplaces.

Key job responsibilities
A Senior Operations Manager in Compliance Operations team manages multiple teams with a span of control up to 150 people. The role may also require to manage a site in a single location. Will also be expected to interact with counterparts in other geographies, manage stakeholder relationship and ability to influence at program level across multiple locations within the organization.

The basic responsibilities include, but not limited to –
• Own business metrics and processes, aligned with business goals; establish processes for measuring, tracking, and driving continuous improvement of metrics
• Contributes to goal settings at an operational level
• Owns WBR/MBR/QBR for the respective function
• Might facilitate complex, cross-team operational integrations
• Drives KPI-focused initiatives and standardization across multiple programs within Product Compliance
• Breaks down goals at team and individual levels and defines clear metric benchmarks that need to be achieved
• Owns escalation responses and corrective measures applied in a specific function
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives across function and applies specific quality/process improvement tools.
• Organizes Kaizen / Six sigma /ACES events to drive process/ quality improvements across functions/ programs, within Product Compliance
• May possess industry specific certifications and applies them to drive process excellence
• Influences key stakeholders within the function to ensure proper resources (Tech/ Non Tech) are allocated and prioritized to achieve quantifiable results
• Creates a quality culture across the function and acts as a “total quality” ambassador within Product Compliance
• Understands and supports the department’s people and skills structure in alignment with its strategic goals
• Creates mechanisms to measure, benchmark, and retain talent at various levels across functions.
• Builds strategy in partnership with the Recruiting team to attract talent at function and/or site level.

About the team
Experience:
Minimum 10 years in managing people, interacting with customers or stakeholders
Minimum 4 years in independently managing a function
Responsible for performance and development of a downstream team of at least 150 people in operations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate in any stream
Overall work experience of minimum 10 years
Strong Analytical ability

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master of Business Administration from tier 1 / tier 2 college
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/ Black Belt
PMP/Prince Certified/Kanban
