DESCRIPTION

Key job responsibilities
Adoption of our entire range of compute services is a massive priority for us. However, these are large complex assignments that take many months to build justifications for, plan the road map, test some of the apps on newer compute types etc. The leader has to be able to 1/ help strategize where the next phase of demand will come from, 2/ help the team move the conversations from pure compute to strategic conversations on how to build competitive advantage at optimal pricing using the latest and best of AWS Compute solutions, 3/ build mechanisms to harness the full power of AWS including partners, specialist solutions, AppMod experts, professional services etc., to create customer value, 4/ hire and develop the best BDs in the business, and 5/ guide the team using personal experience and expertise in selling such complex solutions.
The leader needs to be able to set an example through effective CXO conversations explaining the unique value AWS compute solutions bring, link the same to the challenges/opportunities in their industries, and guide them on the roadmap for adoption. The leader will also need to look beyond corners to identify upcoming challenges and opportunities, and help prepare the organization for the same by 1/ liaising with the worldwide teams on tweaking programs for India, 2/ identifying blockers and running experiments for the same to come up with solutions, 3/ getting the team trained on the new skills that will be required, and 4/ providing feedback on our tools and techniques to the worldwide team for refinement. The leader will also build relations with their counterparts in top partners to help build market momentum, besides being an effective speaker at public forums.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
The person will have at least 20 years of experience in the industry either in user companies in the IT teams or in IT companies. A significant part of the experience should have been in selling and / or implementing complex projects including on cloud. The person would have in handled large complex deals across segments/industries, including selling value to CXOs, and hence understands what it takes to land such complex projects. Exposure to Security solutions, Edge Computing, AppMod, and Devops cycles would be an advantage
The leader will have managed senior professionals doing similar work, besides hiring top notch talent to such roles. The leader will also bring financial acumen in terms of deal constructs, and cloud economics to help build cost benefit analyses for CXOs to consume. The leader will need to have demonstrated experience of managing complex virtual teams working on large complex projects. The ideal persona would therefore involve a mix of people leadership, business development, and technical acumen.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The person will have the ability to keep learning as this is a rapidly evolving space, and new learnings come up frequently, especially around new chipsets, compute models, security solutions, and tools. Other preferred qualifications involve strong exposure to AWS technology, and some degree of awareness on other cloud providers too.
