DESCRIPTION

Amazon India Operations Talent Development team is seeking a Sr. Learning Program Manager. The incumbent will support multiple lines of business within India Operations. S/he is responsible for strategizing and managing the lifecycle (from concept to delivery) of a high-scale and complex programs that meets challenging business goals and/or shows measurable improvements in employee experience/development.

Responsibility:

Dealing Ambiguity: Trusted to operate with complete independence and are often assigned to focus on areas where the business problem and/or strategy has not yet been defined. Make smart trade-offs (e.g., time vs. effort vs. deliverables) and between short-term needs vs. long-term needs.

Problem Solving: Understand the limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions of intrinsically hard problems, acquiring expertise as needed. Decompose complex business problems and inefficiencies into straightforward and efficient solutions.

Data Driven- Strong analytical and deep dive skills. Comfort in teasing insights from voluminous data. Perform root cause/quantitative analysis/hypothesis testing. Establish and measure impact through researched tools and statistical methods. Back arguments/conclusion/decisions with relevant and significant data.

Product Development: Work backward from customer, prototype and innovate, simplify and scale new solutions.

Project Management: Define clear goals, objectives, and priority order. Develop project plans that have clear milestones, sensible deadlines, and measurable success criteria. Negotiate priorities, distinguishing between important and urgent. Proactively identify risks and bring them to the attention of your team and stakeholders with plans for mitigation before they become roadblocks. Keep multiple tasks/projects on track and has excellent time management.

Stakeholder Management: Influence without authority to decouple from dependencies and eliminate problems that stifle innovation or cause user dissatisfaction. Resolve contentious issues, harmonize discordant views, generate constructive debates, and arrive at decisions/consensus. Collaborate effectively with all levels of leadership. You demonstrate good judgment in how and when to escalate (without damaging relationships).

Change Management: Create the correct sense of urgency for delivery. Communicate vision and direction. Build constituency and advocacy to manage organisation through change.

Execution Excellence: Works tactical and strategic. Unblocks teams and increases the speed of delivery. Learning to force multiply. Able to find a path forward in difficult situations.

Communication: Communicates to influence people, Is clear and concise in verbal and written communication to present them effectively to directors and VPs (e.g., ideas, needs, design specifications, project/program status/roadmap, press releases and FAQs, execution plans, etc.,).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Background: 5+ years of overall experience with at least 2+ years in Corporate L&D, Organisational Development (OD), Organisational Effectiveness (OE), Talent Management, Consulting, or Researcher in behavioural science.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Training needs analysis, Content development, Instructional Designing (Eg ADDIE), Six Discipline methodologies, Design thinking, Simulations/gamification, Psychometric and Personality assessments, Understanding of adult learning theory and course facilitation; trained in coaching.
