AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

If so, we’re looking for an exceptional Manager to lead our Prototyping and Cloud Engineering (PACE) team at AWS.
At the core of Amazon’s innovation engine is its culture of experimentation and prototyping to validate new ideas, technologies, and business models in real-world environments. As a Manager of the PACE team, you’ll drive this experimentation ethos, overseeing a team of highly skilled Engineers and Solutions Architects who partner with customers worldwide to build groundbreaking prototypes using AWS services.
You’ll work closely with AWS Sales teams, Service Developers, and strategic customers to identify high-impact use cases for prototyping engagements. Your team will architect, design, and develop working prototypes that showcase the “art of the possible” on AWS, pushing the boundaries of what our cloud platform can achieve.

Key job responsibilities
Lead and inspire a team of talented Prototyping Engineers and Application Modernization Solutions Architects, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
Collaborate with AWS Sales, Service teams, and customers to identify strategic prototyping opportunities and prioritize high-value engagements.
Oversee the scoping, architecture, design, and development of complex customer prototypes, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to best practices.
Extrapolate insights, reference architectures, and patterns from prototyping engagements, contributing to the continual improvement of AWS services and the upskilling of the global AWS community.
Represent the PACE team in executive meetings, presenting technical demonstrations and communicating the value and impact of the team’s work.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, encouraging your team to stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends in cloud computing, AI/ML, and other relevant domains.
Manage the team’s performance, providing coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities to help your team members grow professionally.
About the team – The AWS PACE team accelerates customer adoption of AWS, expedites their path to production, and catalyzes a culture of innovation through hands-on prototyping engagements that showcase the “art of the possible” on our cloud platform.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 10+ years of enterprise IT application work that includes at least 2 years of hands-on software development or DevOps engineering experience
– 2+ years of architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc. experience
– 8+ years of technology solutions development and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing experience
– Experience leading and growing teams of senior technology professionals, ideally in customer facing roles
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
– Deep understanding of AWS services, architectures, and best practices.
