Job summary
Amazonion Experience Tech is looking for a seasoned Principal Technical Program Manager to deliver large and complex initiatives in improving agent experience projects end-to-end as part of re-inventing employee experiences. Agent refers to anyone who is solving employee problems.

In this role you will be responsible for scoping, deliveriing and change management for the initiatives end-to-end. Responsibilities include ownership of the tier-1 support delivery program, driving project schedules from design to release, managing the production launch, change management for users and deprecating legacy systems.

Basic qualifications

Preferred qualifications
MBA with BS or higher in Computer Science
Experience managing the design & development of distributed systems

Key job responsibilities

Work cross-functionally with the Product and Technical groups to prioritize the right programs and ensure they are resourced adequately.
Build, lead, and develop a team of Technical Program Managers.
Influence the technical project deliveries and roadmaps of adjacent partner organizations within Amazon.
Define and standardize TPM best practices across the TPM team, and adopt a continuous improvement mindset.
Apply waterfall and agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) project and program management methodologies
Apply technical expertise and skills to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams for integrations, problem solving, technical risk and issue management
Managing concurrent complex deliveries, aligning project resources effectively and directing all stages of project and change management
Working closely with Product Managers, Development Managers, Data Engineers and UX designers to create realistic, yet ambitious plans that can respond to changes.
Communicate effectively with all members of the project team, and with senior leaders
Track and report progress against plans and goals, across the project team, partner teams and other stakeholders
Use industry best-practice project management methodologies to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous and unstructured scenarios.
Apply robust change and release management practices to ensure successful deployment and adoption of solutions.
Proactively identify and resolve issues, risks and blockers to ensure delivery timelines are not impacted, and recommending recovery actions where needed

You will collaborate with the product teams to deliver the best product with most efficient use of resources and technologies. You will work with all the stakeholders to assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of projects by meeting project milestones. You will also assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints and encourage risk taking behavior to maximize business benefit.

The Consumer Talent Experience and Technology (C-TExT) team serves the WW Consumer functions in Amazon (Operations and Consumer) making up 1MM+ employees globally. It is part of the PXT (People Experience and Technology) Amazon function and builds products which are used by employees, HR Business Partners, Business Leaders, Managers or a combination of the above. C-TExT uses cutting edge data science, and solves at a scale that few companies in the world have. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
12+ years of software industry experience working in software and product development
5+ years of managing multi-disciplinary teams, including all aspects of people hiring, development, and performance management.
Proven record of owning the full project lifecycle from product definition and roadmap through delivery.
Highly motivated self-starter with bias for innovative thinking.
Excellent written and oral communications skills, including experience owing business goals and communicating effectively to executives.
Excellent business judgement, data driven mind and analytical skills, including the ability to coach team leads to identify and solve ambiguous problems.
High attention to detail and the ability to lead multiple, contending priorities simultaneously.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

MBA or similar
15+ years of software industry experience working in software and product development
7+ years of managing multi-disciplinary teams, including all aspects of people development and team building.
3+ years of people management with a proven track record of developing people.
Experience delivering large-scale Talent Management and Talent Acquisition systems with world-class availability, scalability, and performance requirements.
Demonstrated experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and effectively influence across cross-functional teams.
Ability to think strategically while providing direction to team leads and deep diving when necessary to stay on top of tactical execution and leading incremental innovation.

The pay range for this position in Jersey City is $194,700 – 263,400/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Pay Transparency Regulation of Jersey City Municipal Code. Base pay information is based on market location.
