Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (“ADSIPL”) is looking for a highly motivated Senior IP Interconnection Manager to help build and scale one of the world’s largest and complex networks. The Global Interconnect team’s mission is to discover, develop, and manage the strategic business relationships with external network operators globally for the acquisition of interconnect capacity (peering, transit or caching) to support the needs and goals of AWS.

As IP Interconnection Manager for AWS , you will play an important role in planning and sourcing IP interconnect capacity in close coordination with other team members. You will respond to peering requests, coordinate, plan and enable peering and transit connections with both external partners and internal teams (including provisioning), assist in establishing peering with partner networks at new Internet exchanges globally, and work closely with network operations teams to ensure that peering and transit connections are upgraded in a timely and effective manner. Our IP Interconnection Managers have strong sense of ownership of our network and implementation strategy and the maintenance of relationships with strategic suppliers to expand and grow Amazon’s footprint. You will work closely with an agile team to find optimal solutions to Amazon’s ongoing needs for network capacity. By applying a unique blend of business and technology experience, you will work closely with both outside partners and internal teams to find creative, cost effective, and often unusual solutions to meet Amazon’s ongoing growth and expansion needs worldwide.

Key job responsibilities

Develop interconnect and caching strategies and capacity plans to enable effective, efficient and scalable delivery of Amazon content
Provide analysis and detailed planning support to internal teams enabling in-depth understanding of partner networks
Work with capacity planning, engineering and business teams to define and provide business justification for new or evolving Edge infrastructure
Collaborate with a wide variety of internal teams including business development, legal, finance and deployment, to successful implement these plans
Organize, track, and coordinate with partners, vendors and internal teams to ensure that peering and transit connections are upgraded in a timely and effective manner

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience is required
· Candidates should have a minimum of 5-years industry experience in a similar environment.
· Extensive knowledge of IP peering ecosystems, global fiber optic networks and the interconnection of these networks in order to obtain the highest availability for delivering online services globally.
· Ability to create complex financial models to understand business impacts of various network solutions is required.
· Experience interacting with senior executives and other management within a company and working across commercial, technical, domestic, and international arms of an organization
· Demonstrated ability to formulate data driven decisions that lead to results.
· Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position.
· Willing to travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills.
4+ years experience working in an IP network role and business negotiations at an ISP, telecoms operator, or CDN
Experience in directing corporate strategy, and proven ability to work across engineering and product, sales and marketing teams
Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong, talented, opinionated team
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects
Master’s degree or MBA in computer since or Engineering field
