The opportunity
The position is specifically for Wealth & Asset Management sector. We’re looking for an incumbent who has extensive knowledge of the wealth and asset management business drivers and financial sector. He should competent enough to provide advisory services including finance optimization, system implementation, financial statement close process support, regulatory and statutory reporting, advanced data readiness & analytics, audit and control support. The incumbent will work for top global clients across a wide variety of markets and industry sectors thus experience of working with clients in either the financial services or more specifically WAM sector is preferred. As part of our EY GDS Assurance Team, the individual will be responsible for working closely with FAAS Assistant Managers, Managers and Senior Managers on client engagements across Americas, EMEIA or APAC.
Your key responsibilities
Manage quality of service delivery
Execute the following FAAS solutions using Global Delivery Services framework:
Finance optimization
Finance processes
Advanced data analytics
System implementation
Financial statement close
Management reporting and consolidation
Audit and governance
Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork, informing Supervisors of engagement status
Follow through on client requests in a timely fashion, and manage expectations regarding the timing of deliverables and reports
Identify engagement and client service issues.
Explain the client’s critical success factors to the engagement team.
Benchmark client data to industry data to make possible recommendations for improvements
Apply independent and objective professional judgment in applying accounting standards to meet engagement expectations, including regulatory requirements.
Demonstrate a good understanding of accounting concepts; stay informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g., guidelines of the EY FAAS Policy Manual); and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situations
Receive direction from the Manager, Senior Manager and Partner
Supporting delivery of accounting and regulatory change projects by assessing engagement risks, driving conclusions
Supporting engagement mobilisation through scoping, planning, and defining outcomes and creating deliverables as part of a larger project team
Preparation of underlying materials as well as leading/participation in client workshops
Co-ordinating activities between small teams on projects to deliver tasks, including providing guidance and feedback to junior team members
Supporting Financial management of client engagements
Undertaking practice development activities including contributing to thought leadership pieces, running industry events, delivering training, or managing team communications
Aiding proposals and bid teams in delivery of high-quality proposals
Developing strong internal and external networks for long term relationships, managing EY accounts and to bring all EY to clients
Driving innovation by creating an environment that encourages innovation and being a leader in this area by implementing new and improved ways of working, delivery models and / or technological advancements
Establishing and managing effective working relationships with peer-level clients as part of project delivery roles
Contributing to business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new / existing clients
Contributing to the growth of the practice by providing input to EY Point of views, development of solutions, engagement tools and enablers
Contributing to the development of your own and the team’s technical skills by establishing a culture of highest performing teams, inclusive behaviours, and emotional intelligence
Skills and attributes for success
Good understanding of IFRS/US/UK GAAP and International auditing standards.
Previous Wealth and Assets Management experience / knowledge essential
Experience and working knowledge of fund administration and investment accounting platforms like Investran / Eagle etc
Experience and working knowledge in Exchange Traded Funds (ETF’s) and Business Development Companies (BDC’s)
Experience in investment accounting skillset
Experience of finance transformation programs and demonstrable track record leading a variety of relevant projects from inception through design and implementation
Confident and comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity in a project environment
Demonstrate expertise across engagement and practice teams
Able to apply logic and problem solving to complex Finance business problems
Take personal responsibility for the quality of delivery
Instil a positive team mentality, even when under pressure, by treating their colleagues well and creating an inclusive culture
Extremely comfortable and confident around senior stakeholders, internally and externally
Extremely comfortable with Excel and PowerPoint. Much of our work involves detailed analysis and report writing, so it is critical you can work with these tools
Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
Ability and comfort level in researching client inquires and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary

Professional experience:
Typical experience may include, whilst not limited to:
Experience of working in a consulting role in Wealth and Asset Management, or a transformation role in industry, focusing on the Finance function
Advanced skills and experience with finance optimization, system implementation, financial statement close process, regulatory and statutory reporting, management and financial reporting, consolidation reporting, advance data readiness and analytics, governance, controls and regulation.
Experience and working knowledge of fund administration and investment accounting platforms like Investran / Eagle etc
Experience and working knowledge in Exchange Traded Funds (ETF’s) and Business Development Companies (BDC’s)
Experience in investment accounting skillset
Hands-on consulting experience at a Big 4, or top tier consulting firm within Financial Services, or leading change programmes at a Financial Services organisation, or leading a Line function at a Financial Services organisation
To qualify for the role, you must have
Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA (US) or ACCA (UK)
2-5 years (post qualification) in Assurance including at least 1 years of Financial Accounting and Advisory experience
