Job summary
We are currently seeking a Senior Accounting Auditor to join our Finance Operation Accounting Analysis (FOAA) team. In this role you will be responsible for monitoring the quality of FOAA’s deliverables against 4-sigma goal, and helping us continuously drive quality improvements in FOAA’s 3 service centers across globe.

Key job responsibilities
This role will primarily focus on monthly quality assessment over GL reconciliations. You will dive deep into the details of your assigned reconciliations to develop meaningful findings that help in communicating the risk to Accounting and Finance Operation. You will develop your skills to make recommendations that improve controllership and mitigate risk. You should be able to work independently and remain flexible and maintain a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. You should be curious to understand end to end FinOps and Accounting processes and learn to identify potential risks. You should have good analytical skills, solid business judgment, and a desire to drive sustainable results through our assessments.

A day in the life
During the month, you will perform the quality assessment for a selection of account reconciliations. Based on the assessment, you will follow-up with stakeholders within FOAA, FinOps and Accounting to validate the observations, drive root cause analysis and support development of actions plans.

About the team
Finance Operations Accounting and Analysis (FOAA) is part of Amazon’s Finance Operations team. FOAA’s Risk Management team supports the evaluation of risks and controls applicable to FOAA’s processes to continually raise the Controllership bar.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience with Accounting, Auditing, Consulting or Finance roles
• Demonstrated strength in deep dive and good attention to details;
• Relevant experience in month end closing or Balance Sheet reconciliation & reporting activities
• Proven communication skills (written and verbal)
• Bachelor degree in accounting or finance or above

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• CPA or Chartered Accountant equivalent certificate is preferred.
• Experience of Oracle R12 is preferred.
• Familiarity with Blackline and ARM is preferred.
• Strong desire to learn and grow
