The Infrastructure Team in Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (“ADSIPL”) plans, builds, and grows the infrastructure to support AWS services, including data centers, networks, and servers in India. As the Regional infrastructure operations leader in ADSIPL, you will be located in Mumbai and responsible for AWS’s IT infrastructure in Mumbai, providing 24×7 data center operations management for our Data Center facilities in Mumbai area. This position will manage four areas in Data Center facilities management, which are Data Center Operations (server break fix), Data Center Engineering Operations (data center facility operations), Logistics (parts supply and management), and Infrastructure Delivery (capacity delivery/decommissioning & network scaling).
You will have sufficient technical skills to understand IT architecture, data centers, network as well as unparalleled communication skills with the ability to interact with all functions, disciplines, and levels in the organization.

This is a highly visible and critical position that will play a big role in the future expansion of ADSIPL in India. A successful candidate is a senior professional who possesses both business acumen and experience to effectively lead cross-functional teams. He/she should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions. You must have excellent organizational skills and be a strong written and verbal communicator, with great attention to detail. You will need to be able to work independently in a constantly changing and sometimes ambiguous environment. You also need common sense, great judgment, and a sense of humor. Proficiency in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management is plus.

The Cluster Manager will coordinate a team of engineers and technicians to scale and to operate multiple data centers in India. This consists of maintaining existing co-located and in-house Data Centers
· Provide ongoing leadership in securing 100% uptime in operating data centers, including growth and scalability requirements
· Provide vendor management and assist in vendor selections
· Establish standards for Data Centers operations and scaling.
· Serve as a Data Center liaison with other groups such as Network, Design & Engineering, Construction, Site Search and Applications.
· Development and enhancement of Data Center SOP documentation and process, including emergency response, and physical security management
· Manage access to the data centers, ensuring appropriate access control lists are maintained at each facility and reporting to management about data center access.
· Responsible for notifying and coordinating projects directly affecting business users
· Enforce strict metrics regarding scaling and operations.
· Responsible to assist in creating and enforcing technology and standards for production related systems
· Create and validate metrics reports regarding the current and future state of all critical IT systems within the region, ensuring compliance with global policies
· Responsible for notifying and escalating to senior management regarding all data center and computing facility incidents in India
· Follow proper quality assurance procedures regarding releasing any and all technical changes into production
· Assist in implementing service methodologies including but not limited to, incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc.
· Establishes a professional working relationship with other team members and management staff
· Lead recruiting and hiring effort, train and support organizational growth with suitable organizational design
· Leadership in data center safety
· Develop and own employee training program
· Community relations and PR
· Respond to incidents in a timely manner, in 24/7 environment
· Perform resource planning and hiring strategy
· Forecast staff needs, coaching, motivating and developing team members

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic qualifications
Strong experience in operations and operational Strategy · Knowledge in mission critical facilities · Minimum 7 years of people management experience.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Management Information Systems / Electrical Engineering, Facility Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering · An MBA or MS / MA in a related field · Strong data center MEP knowledge · Experience operating large-scale data centers · Minimum 10 years of management experience in technology industry ·
