Amazon is seeking Operations Manager for its Transportation team.
In this role you will be responsible for setting-up and scaling the 3rd party operated sortation centers for Amazon in India. This includes understanding business requirement, identifying partners and setting up sites to ensure rapid expansions & growth. You will also be responsible to ensure vendor accountability and service delivery within defined SLAs, vendor relationship management, drive process excellence at sites to enhance performance at these sortation centers.

Key job responsibilities
• Ensuring 3P sites perform within performance guardrails and readiness of these sites for peak time volume management.
• Continuously improve the defined processes and attain a sustained performance standard. Initiates improvements to enhance quality standards, reduce waste, and eliminate unnecessary work.
• Implement the formal process control and process improvement mechanisms such as Kaizen.
• Ensuring that 3P operations are compliant to regulations and laws would be a major KPI for this role.
• Analysis of the data reports to identify performance bottlenecks and improve the performance.
• Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, FC, LM and Loss prevention to matters related to city operations.
• Conduct the performance appraisals of the team members and mentor them for handling efficient operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in logistics is desirable.
• People management experience. Experience in handling big teams located in different cities is highly desirable.
• Experience in handling live operations preferred (wherein real-time decision-making capability & bias for action is a must)
• 5+ years of experience in program or project management.
• 5+ years of experience delivering cross functional projects
• Ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment and take data backed decisions
• Excellent business judgement, with a track record of generating ideas and solving problems independently
• Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships and networks

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MBA or advanced degree a plus
• Experience in process improvement preferred with additional benefits for knowledge of specific methodologies such has Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.
• Prior experience in vendor management is preferred.
• Prior experience in managing P&L; driving cost reduction
