We at Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (‘ADSIPL’),are looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class cabling infrastructure engineer to join our growing team within its infrastructure operations. The candidate will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and to develop innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand.

Key job responsibilities
· Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
· Installation and testing of copper and Fiber Optic cabling.
· Creating/attaching labels and barcodes
. Understanding of test equipment (power meter / light source, OTDR, VFL,
network analyser, copper / fiber cabling test equipment)
. Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
· Managing inventory of related materials by checking and coordinating all materials to be delivered to site daily
· Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
· Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions.
. Regularly work at heights and from ladders.
. Experience with a ticketing system
· Ability to travel within geographical work area is required. Occasional work in tight and/or narrow spaces, such as under raised floors

You will ideally have :
– 1-2 years of project management experience or operations planning experience
– 1-2 years’ experience with physical network infrastructure deployment and troubleshooting
– 1-2 years’ experience with network cabling (fiber optic & copper)
– Basic knowledge of computer hardware and network cabling.
– Able to work at heights or use ladders for continued periods
– Substantial background in large scale datacentre network implementations and support.
– Knowledge of Copper and Fiber Optic testing methodologies.
– Ability to read basic layout drawings and floorplans.
– Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CITY & GUILDS Cabling cert or equivalent).
– Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– High school or equivalent diploma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
