About the Role:

The candidate will be expected to anchor and control the vital product processes of the department eg. Customer journeys. He/she will also lead the Retail Liabilities fee income business which includes the Lockers product and additionally head the Trust product piece.


Key Responsibilities:

Product Process Control


Reimagining existing/creating new customer on boarding and experience journeys critical to the Liability product suite – Mapping journeys, comparison with market practices, optimizing basis user experience and ensuring success metrics are met
Build better customer engagement across  different channels like  Internet Banking, Website, Mobile Banking
Managing the pricing/ charging framework of the Liabilities products, design, processes & systems
Process re-engineering – Understanding gaps in current processes, redesigning and executing the processes which mitigate the gaps
Inside out review of processes (from a customer lens), monitoring customer complaints and executing tactical and strategic solutions for the same
Leading operations & processes linked to Retail Liabilities Products (Savings, Term Deposits, Locker) viz. Account opening/ closure, account dormancy/ freeze, charge application, charge reversals, product changes, product queries
Ensuring adherence of all regulatory Compliance. Audit Compliance of Retail Product & Processes and timely closure of audit reports. 


Retail Liabilities Fee Income


Directly managing an income fee line worth Rs 1500 crs (18% of the Retail banking fee income) which is a direct outcome of centralized policies, pricing and process interventions and has no direct linkage with on ground resource input/productivity
Identifying new income opportunities via price optimization, market assessment and fixing leakages
Optimizing centralized recovery processes and back end infrastructure vital for running the fee collections
Special Projects – Building sustainable infrastructure frameworks in terms of IT applications, data layers and related processes
Key product activities for products like Lockers product: Product Benefit suite, Sales Quality and processes, Fee Income and Profitability, Sourcing quality and customer satisfaction over the entire product life cycle, rent recoveries, etc

Trust Product management

Business deliverables like NTB and RTD MDAB Budget Achievement, PPC ratios, Product Mix, and Profitability

Product development  (Continuous improvements) – Product relaunches, incremental benefits


Identifying new requirements in existing product laddering and creating effective product plan which consists of
Creation and Launch of new product offering
Monitoring existing Savings P/L  and discontinuation of existing products if required
Continuous monitoring of Competition offering and keeping product lines updated and relevant
Driving Focus Product Mix by actively monitoring Resource Productivity/Incentive Structure
Drive Features Efficacy by creating effective Resource and customer level communication
Custodian of product Content & Collaterals –
Maintaining Products deck, Product Master,
Savings Brochures, Website Content,
Savings Audio Visual Tutorial, Tablet Content, EDM series, MIDs, Product FAQs, Training Content 



Optimal qualification for success on the job is:


Post-graduation from a recognized institute
8-10 years plus experience in Banking or Financial markets

Knowledge of banking products and services
Project management of all product integration/launches changes throughout implementation
Identify, present and execute innovative and creative product solutions
Lead the development, approval, training, communication of product changes and their associated customer, operational, process and systems impact
Display a high level of critical thinking in cross functional process analysis and problem resolution for existing products
Coordinate and build strong work relationships with various internal groups: IT, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Process Quality
Monitor the internal processes for efficiency and validity pre and post product changes
