About the Team & Role:
The Expense and Accounting Team is responsible for a variety of areas focused on Treasury, Expense and Accounts Receivable Accounting. This includes financial statements for the in house bank entities and firm transaction accounting support. The team coordinates and prepares financial statements including footnotes in accordance with US GAAP and related audit and regulatory filings. The team also works on special projects with other teams and plays a key role in the communication flow of information between other groups.
The Financial Reporting Lead will manage the coordination of deliverables supporting multiple audits (stand alone annual, SOX for Internal Audit, quarterly reporting for public entity, etc.).
Candidates should have 6+ years of industry experience and exhibit strong technical, analytical and leadership skills as well as exceptional communication skills. Candidates should be energetic, self-motivated, team-oriented individuals with fresh ideas and innovative solutions who thrive on challenge in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Motivate team members to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
Prepare and review of annual/quarterly financial statements and footnote disclosures in accordance with US GAAP
Maintain strong colleague relationships and build key relationships with external auditors and other internal client teams
Review of process memos and preparation of regular status reports
Preparation of technical memos for transactions
Identify opportunities to simplify tasks and generate process efficiencies
Ad hoc activities and special projects
Qualifications:
Big 4 audit background, with a minimum of three years in audit and experience managing team members
Leadership experience in organizing, planning and executing projects from conceptualization through implementation across multiple internal and external reporting and organizational lines, with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels
Strategic thinking and process re-engineering experience
Highly proficient in Excel
Proven ability to perform under pressure and to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements
Ability to summarize issues, develop recommendations and make decisions
Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks
Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism
Ability to apply judgment & contest and challenge items in financial statements
Excellent communication, managerial and interpersonal skills
Ability to stay knowledgeable about, research and reach well-reasoned conclusions on technical accounting issues
Ability to be proactive and take initiative
Team player – energetic and enthusiastic
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC disclosures, Treasury products (debt, fixed income, equities, derivatives), and related reporting requirements
Asset management industry experience preferred
CPA / CFA / CA strongly preferred
