Providing strategic direction and technical expertise in developing and overseeing company-wide trade compliance strategies, policies, and procedures. Drive system automation, improvement, and documentation.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Collaborating with management, procurement, product development, IT, delivery, legal, and other business stakeholders on trade compliance requirements, including implementing import/export restrictions, maintaining trade data, and conducting trade compliance audits.
Assisting account teams, legal, and procurement with RFPs, customer inquiries, and export/import terms in customer and supplier contracts.
Enabling compliant distribution of hardware, software, and digital solutions worldwide.
Conducting export classifications, making licensing determinations, applying for export licenses, ensuring certification of exemptions/exceptions, and preparing regulatory submissions.
Overseeing compliance with global sanctions programs and enhancing teams responsible for restricted party screening.
Developing targeted training programs for company employees.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Preference for studies in International Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related discipline.
10+ years of trade compliance experience at a multinational corporation. Strong preference for experience in the IT industry.
Extensive knowledge of US/EU/UK sanctions and export regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), particularly with respect to export control regulations on software technology. Experience in ECCN classification.
Preferred Experience:
Compliance experience at a U.S. government contractor or subcontractor.
Experience with U.S. government procurement (FAR/DFAR), the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), facility security clearance (FCL), and other U.S. government security programs.
