Position Summary
This role will be responsible for driving growth through thespecialty diligence sector hubs and embedding technologyin the GDS diligence services. A key component of the rolewould be for the incumbent to lead complex, cross-borderPE engagements by leveraging hands-on buy-side / sellside execution experience. PE clients constitute 50% of theglobal business, and therefore the role’s project executionleadership will assist in gaining further credence with thearea, country, sector diligence, and analytics leaders thatthe incumbent will work with to drive the growth agenda. Theincumbent’s strong understanding of the deal cycle will helpin cross-selling other SaT services, having a multiplier effectas post-investment spending by clients issignificantly morethan pre-investment.
Essential Functions of the job
The role needs extensive hands-on diligence experienceand a strong understanding of the stakeholder play involvedin the transactions. The incumbent not only has tounderstand the quality of earnings and the balance sheetfundamentals in the play but more importantly, needs tounderstand the mindset of buyers and sellers in the market.
Also, considering APAC diligence practice for GDS SaTcurrently has varied penetration percentages across regions,this role will be critical in building and implementing GDSsolutions applicable across regions. With the extensive nonEnglish language play across regions, a critical element ofthis role will be to build GDS services for these regions forbetter adoption
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities
The role will also leverage the opportunity to cross-pollinatelearnings from high GDS user regions such as ASEAN andOceania, to increase GDS penetration in regions such as FSAPAC as well. The APAC diligence team works with acrosscountries, which adds to the complexity since language,culture, and product differ. The amalgamation of bestpractices to develop fit-for-purpose models would increaseGDS service depth across thearea. In addition, theincumbent will have to create an integrated deliverymethodology for these countries by utilizing GDS deliverycenters globally.With multiple technology platforms in place such asDatabook Automation, Upslide, and data-room solutionStrongBox, the role will also establish GDS as thecornerstone for Analytics by enhancing their usage withinEY, with the aim of having technology on 100% ofengagements.
This role will report to the GDS TD leader and ensure thatbusiness priorities are aligned with the overall TD and SaT

priorities. This role will manage the business unitindependently in terms of service delivery, demandgeneration, growth and innovation plans, and teamleadership. The role requires planning for the future,including the service delivery organization through sector oraccounts, and succession management to recognize anddevelop the next generation of leaders to continue thesuper-charged growth. In addition, with GDS being acornerstone in Smart Delivery, the role will be responsiblefor ensuring required quality review processes anddeveloping new skills and capabilities in team members.There would be Associate Directors and Assistant Directorswho will be reporting to this role and, overall, this role will beresponsible for managing a team of about 350-400
professionals indirectly over the next two years
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Stakeholder management shall be a key aspect of the role,with GDS getting a seat on the table with APAC TD leadersand hence opportunity to drive strategic initiatives. With rapidly shifting markets, an understanding of the marketfundamentals and relationships across the client spectrumwill be essential in redesigning GDS priorities to help GDSremain ahead of the curve. With the APAC team expected toconsist of 200+ diligence professionals, successionmanagement and the ability to identify future leaders will becritical in continuing the growth.
