Amazon Projects team need to have in-depth understanding of Project life cycle including span allocation for all the four pillars (assessment, design and detailing, Execution and Performance qualification) of any project. Some of the key aspects of the role are Site Selection along with the RE team, Project statutory and Legal compliances adherence, Project Safety both in terms of design and execution, value management for large and medium scale projects, executing various formats of technical projects-green field, brown field and Improvement projects.
External job description
1. Work on the Electrical layout and prepare the RFQ for entire Electrical work ., he will also work on MEP coordination needed with Architects/Consultants.
2. Carry out vendor launch calls to ensure design, manufacturing happens as per sequence of installation.
3. Support the Site level team by visiting sites/validating quality of installation and support by planning the site activities
4. Work on cost saving/value Engg. initiatives
5. Develop new vendors based on Amazon standards.
6. Carry out training/improvement points with electrical vendors on “quick installation designs” / standard quality installation practices
7. Check the BOQ to identify discrepancy with vendors.
8. Carry out electrical calculation for earthing , lighting , cable calculation, lighting system design , dialux, cable tray layout , PA system and FAS design,
9. Tender bid evaluation and vendor comparison
10. MEP coordination activity
11. Check/ Approve the vendor shop floor drawings
12. Electrical work follow up with vendor and making the DPR,WPR and MPR
13. Have experience and knowledge of working with Autocad, Ecodial/ similar.
The candidate should be an experienced Electrical Engineer in most or all of the following: Power distribution system design, Cable schedule/ Layout, Lighting calculation and Layout, Power socket layout , cable tray schedule load calculation, transformer /DG/ UPS Sizing. He/she must be a self-starter, possessing the ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks simultaneously as well as being able to influence, negotiate and develop relationships at all levels of Org. The candidate must be capable of engineering, designing, estimation and helping commissioning large-scale, complex projects. Moreover, this individual will need to be adept at providing technical leadership and mentoring to site and corporate-based engineers. In addition, the candidate should have proven track record of working in high performance teams that deliver result
Key Responsibilities include
1. Provide engineering design leadership in the expansion and continuous improvement of Amazon’s Indian Fulfillment Center network with specific emphasis on Electrical Package. Drive engineering best practices with respect to documentation, improvement of work methods, standards, safety, and ergonomics processes to ensure safe, low defect and effective processes through the economical use of materials, equipment and human capital.
2. Offer sound guidance on technical issues using ROI
3. Provide oversight for capital planning, capacity planning and distribution system design. Coordinate design efforts between internal teams and external vendors to develop optimal solutions and standards.
4. Create conceptual drawings, equipment specifications and bid documentation to facilitate a competitive bid environment.
5. Provide frequent on-site monitoring and enforcement of installation schedules and vendor quality with vendors/subcontractors, inspect prospective and completed facilities in accordance with corporate and IS standards and procedures, ensuring proper follow-up on punch lists and warranty work.
6. Develop BOQ with cost , change order controls, etc.
7. Coordinate with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance and maintenance practices are followed for new and existing equipment.
Basic qualifications
1. Btech/BE/MTech in Electrical engineering. Should have worked in Electrical design company and have experience designing big warehousing/manufacturing /Pharma facility
2. Highly experienced in Electrical Engineering design, Load calculation, SLD, DG sizing, Lighting Layout, power socket layout, Cable tray sizing ,layout and Design.
3. Minimum of 8 years of experience in Power distribution system design, Cable tray layout design with strong statistical analysis skills.
4. Exposure to Lean Concepts, TOC, layout design, cost/benefit analysis, labor productivity analysis (time studies, standardized work), safety/ergonomic/human factors. Cost Estimation, BOQ
5. Must demonstrate experience with large scale complex integrated System designs. Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and SQL.
6. Position might require up to 40% travel.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree
– Experience in engineering including a supervisory role managing people
– Experience in a fast-paced, automated, industrial, logistics, production or manufacturing environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience in preventative maintenance systems
