The WHS Tech team works on technology solutions such as sensor-based Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, web applications in native AWS, Large-Language-Model (LLM) based applications, and Computer Vision applications to enhance the safety of the global Operations workforce. We are seeking smart, passionate engineers to own and manage these strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and will move quickly with a high degree of ownership. As a member of this team, you will have opportunities to work on a wide array of technologies and build scalable, reliable products for the global network. You will build on top of Amazon’s extensive development infrastructure, leverage internal tools and community to learn and grow your technical skills, and drive impact on critical outcomes that are important to Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
1. Lead the entire product lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, release, and maintenance of highly scalable distributed software systems.
2. Identify and enhance team processes and best practices, influence technical direction, drive operational excellence, and maintain quality standards for team deliverables.
3. Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver new product features.
4. Mentor and develop junior engineers, demonstrating best development practices and providing constructive feedback.
5. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
– 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
– Experience programming with at least one software programming language
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
– Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent
– Experience in IoT solutions, machine learning, statistics or natural language processing.
